What are your thoughts about the upcoming Apocalyptic ending of the world?

My thought is, nothing will happen and the calendar will continue to turn. What I am worried about are all the kooks out there that believe the world is going to end on 12/21/2012 and they start doing stupid things leading up to this date that will injure or kill innocent people.

I know how to jump start the economy-

Instead of spending Billions or should I say Trillions on private companies that go defunct or “Greenie Weenie” jobs that are not going to work the way they want them to work in our economy. Let’s face it; a family of 5 living on $22,000 per annum cannot afford a “Greenie Weenie” light bulb that costs $7.95, and a company as big as GM shouldn’t have been bailed out in the first place.

Let’s put that money to some good use and “invest” in the citizens of the United States –

The 2010 Census has counted 308,745,538 living in the United States, so my plan says, give every person 18 and over, with-out a criminal record, that makes less than $1M per annum, $1M, but with some conditions, and these conditions are as follows.

1. You have to spend it within 1 year; whatever you can’t/don’t spend goes back to Uncle Sam.
2. It has to be spent in the United States.
3. You can’t put more than $50,000 in a savings account.

You can spend it on whatever you like, you can buy a car, you can buy a house, buy a vacation home somewhere in the U.S., pay-off loans, set up a college fund for your children or you can go to college, donate to your favorite charity or church, spend it anyway you want to spend it, as long as the money stays in the United States and helps our economy and companies here in the United States.

Now I’m dead set against Socialism, Progressive Socialism, whatever you want to call it, all I’m saying is instead of throwing good money after bad investing in companies that go belly up or bailing out companies, maybe bail-out the citizens, plus my plan would be a lot cheaper.

At some point this coming week, during his visit to the this year’s opening of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, US President Barack Obama is going to have a nearly irresistible urge. He is going to want to stand up to his hovering political handlers and the smothering bureaucracy which tries to dictate his every move, summon his personal dignity, and say “Enough”.

We all know that the president will do no such thing. He will suppress this urge, for to do otherwise would spell political suicide. No, the president will swallow his anger, and do what he must do. But it is worth giving some consideration, as the US again undermines its security and its global position, pointlessly and gratuitously, in blind allegiance to an ungrateful and self-destructive ally, that we will also be watching something else, something far more personal: The public mortification of Barack Hussein Obama.

If you thought the floods from TS Lee were bad, you haven’t seen anything yet. I understand all the “Greenie Weenies” around the U.S. are crying rivers because of the Solyndra debacle.

It seems there “Hope” for a “Greener Environment” has really taken a hit because of the $540+M loan given to Solyndra and then the company going belly-up. The ones who should be crying are the “American Taxpayer”.

Oil and Coal are looking better and better.

Former New Vision Trash customers—keep an eye on your trash can

Some might remember the “too good to be true” deal that New Vision Trash had a couple of years ago. They embarked on a heavy door-to-door campaign to sign people up for $66/quarter. Waste Management was charging me nearly double that, so I took the bait.

Well that was a mistake. I don’t think this company was ever discussed here, but it was all over other southern Maryland forums. I won’t rehash it all here. New Vision went out of business and their accounts were bought by someone else, and I went with another local disposal service. At the time New Vision went out of business, by my calculations they owed me about $120. I was willing to forget about it (live and learn), but when the new company called me up to introduce themselves to me, I told them I was already being serviced. No hard feelings ... thanks but no thanks, I don’t need your service.

Then they said they’d need their trash can back. LOL. Yea, right. I didn’t have any hard feelings about this new company, but you know ... I felt that trash can was mine and if they wanted it, they were going to need to make good on New Vision’s debt to me. They eventually told me I could keep the can.

What’s the point of all this?

Fast-forward to this morning… I’m working in home office and looking out the window and I see a trash truck come by and abscond with my trash can. And it wasn’t the company I use. My neighborhood only has one way in and out, so I waited by the end of my driveway and waited for them. I flagged them down and asked what’s up.

The guy was explaining that they were replacing all trash cans with new ones. I’m not a customer of this new company. That trash can belongs to me, and I’d like it back thank you very much. They didn’t have any of these new trash cans, so I *suspect* they were asked to go around and collect the cans that “belong” to this new company that bought New Vision. I may be going out on a limb suggesting that, but I think I’m on fairly solid ground.

SO. If you were a customer of New Vision, and didn’t sign up with the company that bought them, keep an eye on your can—especially if you still have the New Vision branding label slapped on the side of it. I removed mine, but they had a list of addresses, which backs up my theory. The name of this new company is apparently SDI. Their number is 540-710-1002. The truck they were in this AM had Virginia plate 51-496P.

FWIW, I now use A1 Affordable out of Waldorf and am perfectly happy.

Cat Fight Brewing

Is there a cat fight brewing between CCK and Davis ? I would say YES , Also Reuben has not heard from one person in response to the email thing ? How about reading the oped in the Indy Wednesday. There is just something about Reuben and Davis that makes me not trust either one. IMHO

Why would Debra Davis ESQ ” Yes we know your an attorney” be in charge of economic delevelopment and Mr. Rucci be in charge of public safety ? Mr.Rucci is a successful business man and I would have liked to have seen him take the roll of economic development IMHO , Any thoughts

“Iranium”

If you get a chance, I recommend everyone here to watch the movie “Iranium”. It tells the story of Iran’s real goal (like we all don’t know) for Nuclear energy.

CAUTION - This movie is not for Children to see, it has some very graphic scenes in it.

Has the water cooler run dry?

I’m concerned. There have been only three forum posts in the last 30 days, and none in the new year. Has our water cooler run dry, or have we solved all of the county’s problems?
