From what I am hearing not only did a certain fire company in Charles County sink their airboat a while back, but now I’ve been told they sank their fire boat trying to retrieve their airboat the other day, someone on TWD has called it Submarine 8.

The fire service in Charles County is like a person trying to bail out a sinking ship with a Dixie cup, yeah your doing something, but the ship is still sinking.

Yep. I got word about it this morning. Did some fact finding throughout the day (thanks to all the folks on TWD and the `Duck’s Facebook friends) and confirmed it. You can see the thread on the Delusional Duck’s front page.

Thanks!

Am I alone in thinking there should be some kind of investigation into these incidents, come on, one company sinking two (2) boats. Sounds a little strange to me…...

Guess the citizens of Charles County get to foot the bill for their incompetence and our “Fire Tax” will go into buying two (2) new boats for this company, you know the insurance won’t cover the total loss.

I just hope some kind of formal investigation is opened to look into these 2 incidents, it does sound strange that the same company sank both of their boats. Sounds to me like a lack of proper training on how to operate them.

I see over on TWD, someone called and e-mailed the County Commissioners, and his complaint has been turned over to the “Charles County Volunteer Fire Chief”, if he is going to be the only person to investigate this, that’s like turning the protection of the hen house over to the foxes.

There needs to be a panel to investigate this with independent non-bias personnel on it.
