This would never happen in this country. In this country, the photographer would have been arrested and charged with a variety of crimes, likely including obstructing, assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, and a variety of pile-on charges. Not to mention a likely world of hurt from the “wood shampoo” he would have received.
But it needs to start happening here. Let’s start with white shirt Tony Baloney of the New York Police Department, strike that, New York para-military unit.
“ATHENS – A police officer captured on camera hitting a woman photographer during an anti-austerity protest on Oct. 5 has been arrested and charged with assaulting her.
The officer, who works with the riot police, was not named but the newspaper Kathimerini said he was charged with unprovoked bodily harm, verbal abuse and violent behavior. The photographer was identified as Tatiana Bolari, who also works for other news agencies.

It’s really funny to see some of those protester’s on T.V., all they are retread hippies from the 60’s, and now as then they’re still clueless. The protester’s I’m worried about are the ones carrying the custom made professional signs, I wonder where they got the money to make those, and if they didn’t pay for them I wonder who did?

Interesting question, but more in what you are attempting to imply than for the question itself:
Some people have really nice signs.
Really nice signs must cost a lot of money.
These people are retread hippies from the 60’s and have no money.
Therefore, the protests are being bankrolled by [insert name of boogeyman here].
The protesters I’m worried about . . . no, wait, I’m not worried about the protesters.

Yes, sorry to burst your little bubble, but the protesters know better than to be “owned” by a corporate sponsor.
They have a website up that accepts personal donations. There is nothing more to it than that.
First they ignore you. - Check. We’re past this stage.
Then they ridicule you. - Check. “Retread hippies”.
Then they fight you. - Increasing and continued police oppression suggests this will happen in earnest soon.

Then you win.
It’s interesting to watch how the longer these protests go and the more they do not conform to the conventional wisdom the more they are ridiculed and attacked. Nothing could further validate the importance and impact of the protests.

Looks like this is closer than I thought. Word in the overnight hours is that police dressed in riot gear have moved into occupations in Boston and San Francisco at least, asked the media to leave, and have ordered the crowds to disperse. In Boston there are reports of city workers collecting the protester’s belongings and throwing them in city garbage trucks.
What do the police have to hide? If they are justified in their response, you’d think they’d want it covered to show the nation they’re acting within reason.

Who are they taking orders from? There have been many protests in the past with little to no police intervention. These folks aren’t destroying property or doing anything unusual, but they are gaining momentum with mainstream media coverage, and that’s the problem. It’s better to keep averagejoe in the dark and feed them rosy economic reports. Damn those protesters! The house o’ cards continues to fall as Wall Street unravels.

Well the police of course are the armed agents of the state, so there’s little question as to whom they are taking orders from. I hold out hope some of the Oath Keepers will step up to the plate and refuse to use violence to quell dissent. I know they’re out there—let us hear from you, please.
As far as destroying property—well that’s actually the crux of the matter, at least ostensibly. In Boston, the area they were accreting just recently had the lawn/plantings renovated to the tune of $150,000, allegedly. The problem is if you follow “the rules”, the “free speech zone” will be setup in a shoe box under a bridge far, far away from where it will matter. These guys must continue to resist police oppression.
I think for once the elites in Washington are so scared they are about to soil their underoos.
Man, if the police treated the Tea Party gatherings in this way after Faux News co-opted the movement for their corporatist and neocon agenda, they’d be ballistic over the situation. They are cheering this, the hypocritical cretins.
I just returned from NYC last night after visiting relatives’ and friends over the holiday weekend, While I there I went down to where the “Occupy Wall Street” protest are being held, people all I can say is the majority of the protesters down there are animals, they are urinating and defecating in the streets and Zuccotti Park smells like a urinal.
In the short time I was down there I witnessed what appeared to be 2 drug OD’s, and I’ve been told that there has been several sexual assaults. Child protective services needs to go down there and look at the way some toddlers and children have to live at this so called “Peaceful” protest.
