Briefing: Shared Septic System Work Group

Board Docs - Charles County Commissioners’ Meeting - Tuesday, September 23, 2008

1.05 [12:30 p.m.] Briefing: Shared Septic System Work Group (Mr. Roy Hancock, Asst. to the County Administrator/Mr. Mark Williams, Director of Environmental Health, Charles County Department of Health)

SharedSepticWorkGroupRecommendations.pdf

Comments by Sammy: Is this a coincidence (or not) that the Shared Septic Task Force is making their recommendations a week or so prior to the public hearing being held on October 1st in regard to proposed amendments to the Charles County Comprehensive Water and Sewer Plan? Dent's Village is on the agenda for that public hearing. Seems that Dent's Village requires Shared Septic. Also, please note that Michael Sullivan is a member of the Task Force. Does anyone have a problem that Mr. Sullivan is a member of the Task Force since he was one of the applicants that requested a text amendment to allow shared septics in Charles County?

    YOU BET I DO!!

It's because of "deals" like this that people lose faith in government. What really gets me is that they're so blatant and "in your face" about it all, giving the impression that they'll do whatever they damn well please regardless of what people think!

The good old boy network continues to thrive and call the shots in Çharles County - and it's things like THIS that prove it!

I can only imagine the "deals" that have been and are currently being struck on the CCC extension...and other development issues in the county!!

  • 2. · the Shared Septic Work Group consisting of Mark Williams, Co-Chairman,
Roy Hancock, Co-Chairman, Sue Greer, Rev. Lowell Hancock, Hammad Matin, Terry Mathews,
Debra Murphey, Michael Sullivan, Joseph Tieger and Jerald Wheeler, reviewed the proposed text
amendments submitted by Rev. Lowell Hancock and Michael Sullivan and have proposed
revisions as noted on the attached

Talk about dead fish that has been sittin' in the sun all day--this stinks more! Looks like this so-called Work Group was formed ONLY so Michael Sullivan and his cronies could do an end run around those who question his motives.

  • 3. · Another thought - Since land that is mined won't perc, shared septic is just what Mr. Chaney needs for his property in Hughesville. Only part of the Jenkins property was mined. Hmmm - nice coincidence that it works out that the Shared Septic Task Force have their recommendations ready at this time.

  • 5. · Where are the so called "investigative reporters" on things like this ? Does the Indy editor or reporters read this blog ? Seems like a prime piece of information to follow up on !

  • 6. · I don't think the Indy has any investigative reporters but there's nothing stopping them from writing an article about this!

  • 7. · Thats funny, in a County environment such as we have, a really good investigative reporter would thrive ! of course, getting his stuff printed might be tough !

  • 8. · THAT's the $64,000.00 question: Will it get printed??

I agree, the "climate" here in Chuck County screams for an Investigative Reporter!!
