Dist. 28 crowd sheds most cash
Spending was a popular campaign strategy for District 28 delegate candidates during the most recent 18-day campaign finance reporting period, as Del. Peter Murphy and Democratic challenger Craig Hickerson were the only hopefuls to raise more than they paid out.
Del. Sally Jameson (D-Charles) spent more than $20,000, including nearly $16,670 on mailers and $3,000 on Maryland Independent ads, while bringing in just less than $3,700, mostly via political action committee donations. The spending cut into Jameson’s $35,000 war chest, leaving her with $19,000 to fend off a bevy of opposing Democrats.
