Charles County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Six Men for Sex Assault

More Suspects Sought as Investigation Continues

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office has arrested six men for holding a 30-year-old woman against her will at a Waldorf residence overnight and sexually assaulting her.

Officers responded to a residence in the 12000 block of Country Lane in Waldorf about 5:30 a.m. March 16 and found the victim, who reported having been sexually assaulted at a residence on nearby Nicholas Road.
[...]
Detectives believe additional suspects are involved but fled the residence prior to officers’ arrival. Detectives also cannot confirm that the identities provided by the accused are true. It appears most of the suspects and other occupants of the Nicholas Road residence are not legal residents of the United States. The Sheriff’s Office is working with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officers. The Sheriff’s Office encountered language barriers during their interviews with the suspects and witnesses and enlisted the assistance of its own translators, as well as translators from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police.

  • 2. · how do you know that these particular actors are here illegally?

yes i do agree that our empire is in danger, but the list of things that got us here is far more broader than illegal aliens in this country.

there are plenty of criminals from all walks of life.

  • 3. · #2 Yes I agree we have enough of our own home grown criminals. We do not need any additional third world illegal garbage!

The CCSO, local news media report they are illegals.

I guess I should have called them "geographically Challenged" or Actors.

My first indication was to call them dirtbag F___ criminals but some on this site may get their panties in a wad.

Nice try 'jdman1' at a low blow directed toward the Obama National Health Care Bill, but these guys will get free health care right now and at your expense if they need it. Since Obama's bill has not yet passed, who are you blaming right now?

This is going to officially "bust" this Country. But, you get what you pay for. Obama was bought and paid for by the Bush backlash. I bet a lot of those people would like to get their votes back right about now.

No where near the number that would like to have their votes back for voting for Bush. I, for one, can attest to that.

If Obama's healthcare bill passes it won't be the Government running healthcare. It will be the Government keeping the private insurance companies from running healthcare into the ground.

Name one facit of Government that is not a disaster. I am fearful that hard work in this country will get you no where as the Fed Gov't feels the necessity to just give things away. Just one woman's humble opinion.

  • 14. · I think our local Sheriffs office- a division of Government- is not a disaster.

Social Security has keep many elderly from extreme poverty- I do think that above a certain yearly income, the % given should be cut back. The rich elderly really do not need it and lets admit- that costs a lot.

I can think of a few more if you want.

Most who studies these things (investment folks- know that what is paying for all the fear-mongering that has gone on has been paid for through Insurance Companies and Pharmaceuticals) . They are afraid they may lose some profits.

After the Rep win a while back; those stocks skyrocketed the next day? Why? One more naysayer in Government- and more chance to keep profits.

These groups are not looking out for you- they are looking out for themselves.

  • 15. · Sorry, I should have been more specific. I meant the Fed Government. There is not one branch that is known for being efficient. There is so much Government waste out there. One only has to look at the current Census program. The following came from the McClatchy web site.

A 20,000% increase, since the first Census.

Benjamin Franklin, the father of the first U.S. census, which cost $44,000 in 1790, said that "a penny saved is a penny earned."

Were he alive today, Franklin might have a less flattering saying for the bureaucrats who are running the 2010 census, which is costing taxpayers $15 billion and rising.

That's $48 per person counted, compared to $16 in 2000 (about $20 adjusted for inflation) and about a penny in 1790 (or 24 cents after 220 years of inflation).

In March 2008, federal auditors designated this year's census a "high-risk area" of federal spending. Among the reasons: weak management of Census Bureau purchases, including computers and software, and inaccurate cost estimates.

Adding to that expense, The Kansas City Star found, are 28 million Census mailings that bureau officials and the U.S. Postal Service have agreed will simply be thrown away.

That's right. Of the 425 million pieces of mail that began going out last month, as many as 28 million pieces, or about 7 percent, will end up in the nation’s recycling bins.

"That is waste at its worst, and we could have avoided it," said U.S. Rep. Jason Chaffetz, a Utah Republican who sleeps on a cot in his office to save money.

Census spokesman Stan Rolark agreed that as many as 28 million letters could be tossed, but said the mailings were needed to ensure that the census reaches as many respondents as possible. He had no estimate of the cost.

  • 17. · Thanks maria:

The Census: If people do not mail it in; the cost to send someone out and do the door to door raises the cost to that high cost.

If people fill out the (is it 10 questions?) and put it in the mailbox the cost per residence goes down tremendously. I posted it somewhere on the DD a few days ago- but its under $1.

    The problem is
1> people not filling them out and returning them. There are many reasons why- from laziness- to silent protest - to yes, illegality or not wanting to be found.
2> the Federal Govt by law is tasked with counting every person in the US every 10 years.

So, we Americans seem to do these things to ourselves- by the people we have elected in the past and the present.

The other is: we are founded on Christian beliefs; that is a common theme that is wrong. We are founded under GOD and our first people came for freedom of religion. So it is not Christian per se: not all early Americans nor all the Founders believed in Christ- they did believe or professed to believe in a higher power that governed the World as they knew it.

I can go get the research and name those who were Deist's but please don't make me; if you don't believe me the most recent reading that I remember readily as a source was the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation Magazine research article in the Fall or Winter of last year.

I will readily agree we are under GOD's principles.

  • 18. · Maria, you are absolutely correct in saying that there is a lot of waste and inefficiency in the Federal Government. But, there are some things that we all have to depend on the Federal Government to do such as National Defense. There is an enormous waste here also. But, we just can't say that because the Government doesn't run certain programs or departments efficiently that we should turn them over to private enterprize. Name me one company that can defend our Country. Name one private enterprize that can manage Medicare and Social Security. Our job is to constantly press those in office to make these things better.

  • 19. · I never said anything about turning defense over to the private sector. My point is simple: there is waste in Government. If anyone out there thinks that the Federal Gov't is going to run healthcare in an efficient manner, they are sadly mistaken. Also, as I have said before in other posts, nowhere in the Constitution does it say the Federal Government is a charity organization. If anyone finds where that is written, let me know. I just don't understand what happened to hard work and trying to better oneself with hard work. It seems a lot of people want something for nothing. All of us "suckers" who continue to work, pay taxes, make their house payments and not live beyond their means get the shaft! Here's a noble idea; you can't afford a $600,000 house making $64,000 a year. It just can't happen. And that expensive SUV in your driveway, and the big screen TV you bought with your stimulus money, are not good investments.....just my opinion.

  • 20. · So, six men raping a woman sparks a health care debate? Really? How about getting back to the topic at hand. This is an absolute tragedy. Illegal, not illegal, doesn't matter - at this point they should rot in jail for the rest of their life. And yes, I understand that would give them free health care but that is hardly the point. They should only be deported after answering for their crimes. Trust me, if you deport them, they will return.

And slavery. Let's not forget slavery. Were it not for 246 years of free labor, America would never have become a world power as quickly as it did.

Back to the subject at hand, these criminals have been apprehended, so I hear, and should suffer the maximum penalty for their heinous acts. THEN they should be deported.

  • 23. · Everybody gang up on me! I deserve it.

Until this country does something about the influx of ILLEGAL aliens, (key word illegal) we are all going to suffer. When I say suffer I mean more of our tax dollars going to liberal programs that keep them here (again, illegally). One only needs to lokk as far as their local politicians to see exactly what I am talking about. How many senators or congressmen have been caught using illegal aliens for housekeeping, child care and landscaping? The borders need to be controlled, now. This arrest is the perfect example of what happens when illegal aliens take advantage of the opportunities that they are given here. Now, your tax dollars are going to pay for these low-lifes for a long time when they should not have even been here in the first place. Now, can anyone disagree with that last sentence?

  • 25. · I also agree but, I just wish that during the 8-years that Bush was President and the Republicans controlled the Congress for 6 of those years and millions of illegals entered this Country during that time, that something could not have been done about it then. We now have a new President who is about to take up this issue and I hope that, unlike the National Healthcare Bill, the Republicans won't just stand on the sideline and simply say 'NO' to anything Obama and the Democrats propose but will join in the debate and get a law passed that has teeth in it. I'd like Maria to agree with me on this point of view as well!

  • 26. · Bi-partisanship is the key to anything happening in Washington. We all know from our life experiences that there has to be straight talk and compromise to please everyone (well not everyone; some no matter what are never pleased), lets say the majority.

Things are so polarized ( and I am not pointing the finger at anyone group) that nothing can be done for the good of this Nation and citizens.

It is a crying shame because our Country can be great but instead are like toddlers who cant get their way. We need to be more like Kindergarten where everyone is trying to be considerate, pay attention, wants to do well and take turns.

Instead we have this internal mess that has had the effect of turning this Nation into bitter polarized citizens. I find this very sad.

  • 27. · Anyone who has watched TV today on channels that are covering the House of Representatives should be appald at the BS that it takes to get even one little motion resolved. How can this Country move fast enough in this 21st Century with this SLOW_MO. China can make major decisions in a heart beat and the whole Country starts getting it done. OK, maybe that's not the best way but, we have got to get things done faster. There are too many problems to spend a year on each one of them before a decision is made. Maybe the next major legislative endeavor should be a revamping of the entire legislative process to make it more efficient, regardless of the bill to be decided upon.

  • 28. · Border control is necessary, but perhaps more necessary is restraint on the part of beloved "capitalists" who want only to make as much money as humanly possible. Several years ago there was a big push on for Americans to "buy American." Not sure how well it worked, but it's no coincidence that foreign made cars topped auto sales for years. Foreign made cars lasted longer and had far better resale value. A similar phenomenon is occurring today in the labor market. Capitalists (i.e., small business owners) know that it's only wise (from a capitalistic perspective) to use labor from illegal immigrants that costs a fraction of that of American workers since doing so increases profit margins exponentially. To an immigrant used to making $10 a week in his home country, $7 an hour is gravy. Sign me up for overtime! Capitalism rules, right? So if we really want to be serious about the illegal immigrant problem, something has to be done to severely punish "capitalists" who employ illegal immigrants, thereby turning off the "magnet", if you will, that brings so many to America in the first place.

  • 31. · Let's not chop the quote up for dramatic effect. The entire phrase is "punish capitalists who employ illegal immigrants. . ." Capitalists who break the law or take advantage of the public in very unscrupulous ways do need to be punished. Let's be consistent for a minute. People harp endlessly on the punishments "illegal" aliens should receive because, well, they are "illegal." We hear that drumbeat here almost daily. So when a capitalist is illegal, too, let's beat him just as severely as we would anyone else deemed to be illegal.

You don't have to read them or agree with them. I don't agree with others on here, but I respect their right to express themselves and never resort to low-blows. I tend to be conservative and I apologize to no one for that. I feel there is a ton of waste in the Federal Gov't and I also believe that it's not the Fed Government's job to be a charity organization. Again, if you don't like it that's fine. This is just one wonman's opinion. Insults and name calling make you look imature and childish. Your liberal views are what is wrong with this country. Everyone wants something for nothing. If they bite off more than they chew, they blame someone else and expect (the word entitlement comes to mind) the Government to bail them out. Again, just my opinion.
